If you are worried that you might have an infestation of bed bugs, you will want to educate yourself on the signs that would indicate that you have them. This way, you will be able to spot the problem as soon as possible and then call in an exterminator.
These bite marks might first appear without any pain accompanying them. However, after some time passes, they can become itchy welts. They might remind some people of flea bites. However, bite marks from bed bugs will not have red spots in the center of the marks as a flea bite would. You might also have several bite marks in patches of your skin that was exposed while you were sleeping. You might find an a medication that can help with the itching. However, it is likely that you will continue to get those bites until an exterminator takes care of them. Also, you run the risk of getting more bites as the infestation grows in size.
Does your bedroom suddenly have a musty odor to it or maybe you are just noticing this smell coming from your mattress. If that is the case, then you might have an infestation of bed bugs. This is because a musty odor is what is excreted from the scent glands of the bugs. The more bed bugs there are in your home, the more prevalent the musty smell will be. This is not a smell that you are just going to be able to cover up or wash out of your sheets. You will have to have the bed bugs exterminated in order to get the smell to go away.
Empty Shells And Eggs
Bed bugs are extremely small. Therefore, you are going to have to really look closely in order to spot the empty shells and eggs that they leave behind. Grab a flashlight and take a close look along the baseboards in your bedroom and along the sides of your mattress and box spring. Even if you only spot a couple of empty bug shells and eggs, that is enough to say that you have an infestation of them. After all, there are many more for every single shell or egg that you spot.
With those three things in mind, you should have a relatively easy time figuring out if you have a bed bug infestation that you need to hire a professional exterminator for (like A-Alert Exterminating Service Inc).Share
